Local Plan Draft Spatial Strategy have your say

The council is consulting on the Local Plan 2024 to 2042: Draft Spatial Strategy (Regulation 18 consultation). The consultation is your chance to get involved in shaping the future of the borough, including where homes, employment land and infrastructure should be planned for in the future.

How your response will be processed

A single consultation response will be counted as one response, even if additional names are listed on it. Please encourage family members to make their own response if they wish to.

Local Plan mailing list

By submitting a response, your details will be added to the Basingstoke and Deane Local Plan mailing list and you may be contacted at future stages of the local plan process. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the end of the email. If you do not wish to be added to the mailing list, please make this clear in your consultation response.

Privacy and use of artificial intelligence

All personal data will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’). Further details on how the Planning Policy team process personal data can be found on the council’s website under Planning Policy and the privacy statement.

A closed artificial intelligence system will be used to summarise the main issues arising from the public consultation.

What will happen after the consultation?

Using the consultation responses and evolving evidence work, the council will draw up a further draft Local Plan in 2026. That version will be consulted on again, in line with a process set nationally, before an examination by an independent planning inspector. The council is aiming to adopt the Local Plan by winter 2027.
