1.      Policy HSG7 regarding self-build may require further validation. ‘Self Build’ rarely means that the occupiers actually do all the work on their new home. ‘Self Build’ can mean a group of skilled people coming together, each doing some work on all the homes, or can mean that a group of people project managing their own builds, calling in subcontractors to undertake jobs such as bricklaying and plumbing. In these cases, allocating 5% of a site of 100 dwellings or more may not be an appropriate scale.
