I have been a user of Popham Airfield since 1999. I object strongly to any proposed housing development at this site, for the following reasons:
- The location simply cannot support the infrastructure which would be required to build the proposed housing development.
- Popham airfield is an essential driver of aviation related economic activity in the south east of England. It is the site of several aviation businesses and has been the location for innumerable aviation careers thanks to the flying school and aircraft syndicates based there.
- It is an important recreation amenity for multiple interest groups - from recreation pilots through to motorcyclists to general visitors to charities.
It should remain an airfield.
