Policy SPS2: Regeneration

As noted in relation to Policy SPS1, the relocation of a range of services to a new hospital site is expected to release an opportunity to regenerate and develop part of the existing Basingstoke North and Hampshire Hospital (BNHH) site for residential-led mixed-use development. This will help the Borough to prioritise the development of brownfield land. Assuming the successful development of a new hospital at Southern Manydown, part of the existing BNHH would be likely to come forward for development between 2032 and 2040, toward the end of the period covered by the Local Plan Update.
